Another preliminary sketch. Seriously, this needs to be one of my last commissions. I’m doing a couple other commissions, but this is basically the last for awhile. I’ve expressed some misery over commissions, but then I had a “free week” and I said, “hey everyone, I can do a couple more!”. A couple more turned into 8, and then a week turned into 2 weeks. Sometimes I like doing these, but I just need to get back to other things. I can still take commissions, but *NOOO* promises when I will do them.
Funny thing about this one. The commissioner asked me to draw this street corner in Brooklyn, NY with this Dizzy’s ice cream place on the corner. I drew the EXACT same corner in LOCAL #6. Small world!
There’s an easter egg in The New York Five where I drew a sign in the background advertising a LOCAL TV series. In this commission, I’m drawing a sign for The New York Four TV series. What does it all mean?!? No comment.

Guess who. Preliminary sketch for a commission. I’m actually having fun with this one. My sketches are always better so I’ll find a way to screw this up.

Gwen Stacy. Preliminary sketch.
Yeah yeah I know, my sketches are better than my finishes. I wish I could just do a whole comic in a sketch style and not feel bad about it. Nobody knows this, but I’d be a good penciler. Y’know those people that draw in pencil first so someone else can ink it?

Preliminary sketch for a commission. Ren Severin working in a comic book store. Too good to be true.
